Hobart M. Cable Cabinet Grand Piano
Built before 1905 (c. 1903-1904), serial number (pictured) 12972
Only played on the way to church every Sunday 🙂 Has been in family for decades, been in only two houses (moved once). Used very sparingly when kids wanted to learn, short lived.
In decent condition. All keys work. Foot pedals work although I can’t discern if left pedal softens much or not. Some keys have missing ivory covering. Wood shows some wear (scratches, stains, etc). Would need tuning at a minimum, restoration as you wish to restore to original sound and appearance.
Has nice woodwork details. Includes a bench with sheet music storage inside.
Local pickup only. It’s very heavy. Recommend piano moving equipment and an appropriate vehicle.
Price is negotiable.
Fully restored (which would cost several thousand) this could be worth close to, or more than, $10,000. Or just tune it up and shine it up and have a beautiful looking and sounding household piano. 🎶 🎼 🎵 🎹
